Refunds & Returns

1. Your Legal Rights
Nothing in this policy removes your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. You are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement if these conditions are not met.
For purchases made online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel most orders within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods, for any reason, without needing to provide an explanation.
2. Physical Goods — 14-Day Right to Cancel
For physical goods purchased through HSC, you have 14 days from the date you receive your order to notify the seller that you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return the item.
- The item must be returned in the same condition it was received — unused, with original packaging where possible.
- Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the item is faulty, not as described, or the seller offers free returns.
- Once the seller confirms receipt of the returned item, a full refund of the purchase price (excluding original delivery cost, unless the entire order is cancelled) is issued within 14 days.
Exceptions to the 14-day right to cancel for physical goods:
- Custom or personalised items made to your specification
- Perishable goods (food, flowers, etc.)
- Sealed items that cannot be returned once unsealed for hygiene reasons (e.g. earrings, sealed cosmetics)
3. Digital Goods
Digital goods (downloads, software keys, digital art, templates, etc.) are non-refundable once the download has been accessed, provided you gave explicit consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged you were waiving your 14-day cancellation right at checkout — as required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If a digital product is faulty, corrupted, or materially not as described, you are entitled to a replacement or a full refund. Open a dispute via Dashboard → Orders within 14 days of purchase.
4. Services
Services booked through HSC follow the seller's stated cancellation policy. Where no policy is stated:
- If the service has not yet commenced and you cancel within 14 days of booking, you are entitled to a full refund.
- If you gave explicit consent for the service to begin immediately and waived your cancellation right, you may still be entitled to a partial refund for the portion not yet completed.
- If a service was paid for and not delivered, open a dispute via your order.
5. Motors
Vehicle transactions on HSC are private sales between individuals. Private sales in the UK do not carry the same statutory protection as buying from a registered trader. However:
- Sellers must not misrepresent their vehicles. Vehicles described falsely (incorrect mileage, undisclosed write-off history, outstanding finance not declared) are actionable under the Misrepresentation Act 1967.
- If a vehicle was sold by a trader (business seller) rather than a private individual, your full Consumer Rights Act protections apply.
- Parts and accessories purchased through HSC are treated as standard physical goods and carry the same 14-day return right.
6. Property
HSC is an advertising platform for property listings, not an estate agent or conveyancer. HSC plays no part in property transactions; accordingly, no refunds are processed by HSC in connection with property transactions. Any deposits or payments in connection with property must be handled through appropriately authorised and regulated parties.
7. Events
Event ticket refund eligibility depends on the event organiser's policy. HSC does not issue refunds for events unless:
- The event is cancelled by the organiser — full refund issued automatically.
- The event is materially different from what was advertised (wrong date, venue, or performer).
- The organiser fails to honour the booking.
For non-delivery, open a dispute via your order within 7 days of the event date.
8. How to Request a Refund
- Go to Dashboard → Orders and locate the relevant order.
- Click Request Return / Refund and select your reason.
- The seller is notified and has 48 hours to respond.
- If the seller agrees, the refund is processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.
- If the seller disputes the request or does not respond, the case escalates to HSC's resolution team who will review within 3 business days.
